Just released!World premiere recording of Kurt Weill's Zaubernacht, in the reconstruction by Meirion Bowen

![]() Capriccio Records in Germany have just added a significant new item to their list of Kurt Weill CDs: the first ever recording of his ballet-pantomime Zaubernacht (Magic Night), composed and premiered in 1922. Meirion Bowen´s reconstruction of this work from the only surviving score (an incomplete piano rehearsal score) was premiered in Cologne on June 1, 2000 and this recording involves the same team of performers as on that occasion:

Just published!Tritó Edicions of Barcelona have just published Meirion Bowen´s arrangement of Beethoven´s Grosse Fuge, which was premiered in 1992 by the London Chamber Orchestra. Scores can be obtained from:

![]() Tritó Edicions of Barcelona have just released a recording of Meirion Bowen´s version of Debussy's La boîte à joujoux. The performance is by the Ensemble Orquestra de Cadaqués with a narration in Catalan by Mireia Casas and the CD itself is given the Catalan title, La Caixa de Joguines. Meirion Bowen will give a pre-concert talk on Tippett's King Priam at the BBC Proms on Sunday July 20. The talk takes place at 5.30pm in the Auditorium of the Royal Albert Hall and is followed by a concert performance of the complete opera.

Meirion Bowen has been invited to give the Annual Lecture at the Birmingham
Conservatoire, UK, in the Autumn of 2004. The lecture will be open to the
general public.
